Bungie is changing how Elemental Well works in Destiny 2 Lightfall. Here's everything you need to know about it.

In the Lightfall expansion, Bungie is overhauling several aspects of buildcrafting and making them more relevant for future endgame activities.

Mod customization is getting a rework, with Bungie aiming to give players more freedom and flexibility on how and where they spend their Elemental Energy. Speaking of mods, Bungie is also tweaking the functionalities of Elemental Wells in Destiny 2 Lightfall. Here's everything players need to know about it.

Elemental Wells Are Taking a Back Seat in Destiny 2 Lightfall

For those unaware, Elemental Wells, like Charged with Light, are combat-style mod mechanics that provide unique buffs like increased weapon damage, increased Intellect, increased energy, and more.

Starting from Lightfall, armor mods that generated or exploited Elemental Wells will now instead be used for Orbs of Power. Furthermore, each Subclass will now spawn damage-type objects instead of Elemental Wells.

These are:

  • Ionic Traces for Arc Subclass.
  • Firesprite for Solar Subclass.
  • Void Breaches for Void Subclass.
  • Stasis Shards for Stasis Subclass.

As of this writing, Bungie has not revealed what object Strand Subclass would spawn.
Like Elemental Wells, picking up the above-mentioned items will grant ability energy, increased weapon damage, and other buffs. As Bungie explained in its TWAB, someone who's running Solar subclass with Ember of Mercy Fragment equipped, picking up a Firesprite will grant them the restoration effect.

That's all the changes coming to Elemental Wells in Destiny 2 Lightfall.
