Born and raised on Maui, 27-year-old Lily Meola has the opportunity to win $1 million on America’s Got Talent after her Golden Buzzer performance, punching her ticket to the live shows in Las Vegas airing this month.
The local singer/songwriter is performing on the fourth live show, with the series returning Tuesday, and fans nationwide can cast their vote to help advance their favorite performers, according to a news release.
At this point in the competition, AGT narrows 55 acts down to 10, with two advancing each week into the final based on viewer overnight votes.
Growing up in the Valley Isle, Meola began performing around local bars and cafes at age of 11. Later, Meola was mentored by producer Bob Rock, toured with Willie Nelson, and sang with Steven Tyler, Kris Kristofferson, Sammy Hagar, and Alice Cooper.
After slowing her music career to take care of her mom who passed away from cancer, Meola took to America’s Got Talent to perform her original song “Daydream,” and became the recipient of Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer, according to a news release.
